In 1940, my grandparents joined them.
Susan https://www.blogger.com/profile/00881154785851858054noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4484454365559045726.post-10153406936138877702017-01-24T18:44:37.089-08:002017-01-24T18:44:37.089-08:00I had to do a double take when I saw the photo of ...I had to do a double take when I saw the photo of the headstone. My maiden name is Wallin. Genealogy is my hobby and just prior to the Civil War, my Wallin gg-grandfather and his family moved to Illinois. I never knew why Illinois, did he have other family there? They stayed there just long enough to have a child or two then moved on to Missouri. Got me to thinking, maybe we are related way back. Thank you for the story on your brother.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09688221019946203564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4484454365559045726.post-63934055305885273222015-02-21T19:23:45.650-08:002015-02-21T19:23:45.650-08:00I don't think this went through the first time...I don't think this went through the first time, so if it has, my apologies. Thank you for sharing this heartfelt story of Bruce. I am pleased you are finally able to let go of the angst and remember him by his good points.
I have been on a similar journey with my sister. She was a lovely person, with lots of potential but dodged by depression. Alcohol took over her life and finally took it, though now she has peace. I have needed time to remember her without tears or anger, and finally I am at peace with her.Aus Baileyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11447902708011297848noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4484454365559045726.post-74148551714380588732015-01-25T20:19:03.906-08:002015-01-25T20:19:03.906-08:00Thanks for sharing such sweet memories of your bro...Thanks for sharing such sweet memories of your brother. Beautiful told with passio...What a beautiful story. Beautiful told with passion, but also not blind for wrong choices in life. I always feel a bit uncomfortable when people shout around good stories about the deceased. Like they did not have any less habits.
This story is so lovely because it also mentioned the less choices of Bruce. It shows that every bad person has his own good things, must have some good underneath. We should think of that more often, before we point our finger to others.Birgitte aka Bietjehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10635940287323473138noreply@blogger.com
